Collins Stone & Associates has been established for over 12 years – and in that time we have gone from strength to strength to become one of the leading Fire Safety and Training companies in the UK.
Based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire – we offer over 30 years’ experience to the industry, with all members of our team being past Senior Fire Brigade Officers.

George William Henry Collins FIFPO MIFireE
Retired from the Nottinghamshire Fire Brigade in 1988 at senior rank, George was instrumental in formulating brigade policy, relating to fire prevention – establishing working systems to monitor performance and guarantee a uniform interpretation of standards.
George is wholly dedicated to taking an active role in the fire prevention sector, and is associated with the following organisations:
- The Institution of Fire Engineers and the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO). Chairman of the Executive Council of the IFPO, and member of the Technical Committee and Training Committee.
- Joint Editor of the IFPO Magazine.
- Representative on British Standard and other national committees.
- A Corporate Member of the Fire Protection Association and the Worshipful Company of Firefighters
Michael Stone MIFPO GIFireE
Michael served with the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service for 30 years, retiring in 1994 at senior rank. Michael developed the brigade’s Fire Prevention Guidance Manual, headed the Fire Investigation Team and the Commercial Training Department.
Michael has also carried out extensive work for Sense East (the National Deaf Blind and Rubella Association) in addition to numerous residential care homes. Michael also lectured for the NEBOSH - General Certificate (fire Section), the Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, and the Diploma (fire section).
By examination, Michael is a Graduate Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers and a member of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO).
Michael is also a Corporate Member of the Fire Protection Association and the Worshipful Company of Firefighters.
